When protesters gathered last year outside the Convention Center in Philadelphia to express their Shale Gas Outrage to the industry execs meeting inside, their numbers broke records, making it the largest anti-fracking protest of its time. And all that, despite flooding rains that prevented many more fractivists from attending!

The industry’s back in Philadelphia this September for their back-slapping Shale Gas Insight conference and we’ll be back, too, in even bigger numbers! Fractivists from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and beyond will join together outside the Convention Center to tell the industry execs and the politicians and policy makers who love them to STOP FRACKING NOW!!

Shale Gas Outrage 2 comes on the heels of a series of very successful rallies in Ohio, Washington D.C., and, most recently, New York. You can help keep the momentum growing by joining us for the rally and march from 12 – 3 on September 20th at 13th and Arch, in front of the Convention Center.

Confirmed speakers include:
Josh Fox, director of Gasland and The Sky Is Pink
Bill McKibben, president and co-founder of
Dr. Sandra Steingraber, ecologist and author of Living Downstream
Dr. Stephen Cleghorn, organic farmer and activist
Wenonah Hunter, executive director of Food & Water Watch
Doug Shields, former Pittsburgh councilman and star of The Sky Is Pink
…and more speakers and performers!

The rally and march are just two of the events scheduled. A press conference and Blessing of the Waters, an interfaith service, are also scheduled for the 20th. On the 21st Physicians for Social Responsibility has invited the public to attend a morning conference on Health and Gas Drilling. We will be holding an afternoon conference for organizers called Freedom from Fracking 2012. Registration is required for the Freedom from Fracking conference. Please visit to register.
