We are a coalition of community groups, citizen activists and environmental organizations from across the country who share a common concern over the spread of oil and gas drilling near our neighborhoods. The purpose of this event is to bring together thousands of people from each oil and gas drilling state to a family-friendly rally at the Capitol.
We are demanding no more drilling that harms public health, water, and air, with the ultimate goal of moving towards a fossil fuel free future.
For more information, please find our mission statement here.
You, me, and thousands of our fellow fractivists.
Wednesday, July 25-Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 2pm-4:30pm at the Capitol.
We have reserved space at St Stephens Church from July 25th-July 28th. If your group would like to stay at the church please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The limit for the church is 350 and will be given out on a first come first serve basis.

How to organize a charter bus to the Stop the Frack Attack Rally on July, 28
Find a bus:
Go to www.busrates.com and put in your zip code. It will give you a list of bus companies in your area. Call around to get the best price, and reserve the bus.
Collect money to pay for the bus:
Go to http://www.crowdrise.com/
When prompted, click to “Create a new team” – you will have to to sign up as yourself in order to do this.
Name your team “Bus from Akron” or wherever you are coming from. Include the details about the cost per person and when the bus will be leaving/arriving in the “About your team” section. It’s important to charge 10% more for the bus than it actually costs, since the site charges a small transaction fee for each contribution. So, if the bus is $30 a person, please charge $33.
Put the total amount you want to raise for the bus in the “amount of money you hope to raise” section.
You should also pick a specific URL for your team, like http://www.crowdrise.com/
Spread the word:
Email and call friends and neighbors who you think may want to come, send the URL out to listservs and others in your community. Post it on your Facebook page, and on the Stop the Frack Attack Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/
Please check back for more information about chartered buses as the date of the action nears.
The best way to support the Day of Action, other than attending, is to make a donation. Any amount you give, no matter how large or small, will make a big difference. Your gift will defray the costs of the rally and help other fracktivists and impacted community members attend. Please give to the Day of Action here.
Another great way to help is to spread the word about the Day of Action among your friends, family, and other networks. Please take to Twitter using the hashtag #stopthefrackattack and feel free to like us on Facebook and forward our website link to your email contacts.
Holding an event like this is very expensive! We need to rent the stage, sound equipment, a first-aid station and all the other things we need to put on a great event. If we raise enough money, we plan to bring people from affected communities to DC who can’t afford to come on their own.
We can’t do it without your help. We are raising the entire budget from individual donors like you and a few generous sponsors. All money raised will go toward organizing the Stop the Frack Attack national day of action. Please give generously today.
Your family and friends. Don’t forget water, snacks, cash, sunscreen, and your cell phone. Also, please check the weather report before you arrive, so you can dress appropriately and you should have a meet up plan for your travel companions if cell phone reception is spotty. Please bring a hat and comfortable shoes. Also, a picnic blanket could come in handy.
No contraband or weapons. In fact, please leave anything pointy at home, even if it’s a stake for a wooden sign. No merchandise for sale.
No, as long as you don’t do anything illegal.
